Wednesday, our second full day on Shopify was an exceptionally strong one for sales. Most importantly the first sales came through within 90 mins of migration. Google crawled most of the site within 24 hours. David fixed issues (which interestingly were not showing on ContentKing) This took the Ahrefs rating to 88 within 24 hours. Our health ranking rose on ContentKing from 878/ 1000 for the BigCommerce site to 918/1000 on Shopify Visibility on SISTRIX improved by 2%. The whole team had full access to the new site very quickly. Once David, our in-house developer, switched us over, we were down for less than 30 mins. Final tasks were completed by early afternoon. SISTRIX and ContentKing allowed us to keep an eye on our digital footprint. LitExtention provided a named support person who manually pulled through some products which did not migrate. Vital tools that kept us on track were Screaming Frog SISTRIX BrowserStack Ahrefs ContentKing (acquired by Conductor) and LitExtension - #1 Shopping Cart Migration Expert Of these Screaming Frog identified a handful of urls which were specific to BigCommerce and were missing from the upload ahead of the move. Total time taken from decision to implementation was 2.5 months. The entire build and preparation was done in-house by our team of six. The first rule of replatforming is don’t do it unless you absolutely have to and then don’t do it at all.
